WELCOME TO NGU THEATRE!
A student in the NGU theatre program
will experience a rigorous course of study in general
education, theatre core and specialized theatre track
courses (performance, design, ministry or
history/pedagogy tracks are available) as well as
regular production experience (onstage and backstage),
internships in local theatres, school and churches and
the opportunity to present a major project in the senior
year.
At North
Greenville University we do our best to make a
difference in the life of each and every student that
God entrusts to us. We are committed to educating our
students in a biblically sound, Christ-centered
environment. We care about their spiritual well-being as
well as their academic achievements.
Our faculty and staff members are committed Christians
who take the integration of faith and learning very
seriously and make it a significant part of all academic
experiences at our university.
In the fall of 2003 North Greenville College (now University) instituted the Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre as a new major. The program began with 4 confirmed majors at the freshman and sophomore levels and two full time faculty members. In the fall of 2008, 29 students are declared theatre majors and several others are minors and interdisciplinary majors. The faculty now includes 4 full time and 2 part time professionally-credentialed individuals.
The mission of the Department of Theatre
Arts is to prepare students for graduate
studies and/or professional work in the
theatre as mature Christians and artists.
